This is an gorgeous parlor. One of the older (a few years old) versions with the beautiful vine inlay on the fretboard. On heck of a little fingerpicker. I bought it and never used it. Just no time. Still has the hang tags on it. The newer ones aren't nearly as nice.

Comes with a Tanglewood Hardshell Case (made by TKL). The case has a small tear in the tolex (see image 3, above), but it's a fine quality case.

A rare bird and an awesome player! Roger Benedict began building guitars in Minneapolis, MN in the early eighties. In 1988, he designed and built an electric guitar (Strat style) that featured a semi-hollow spruce body and state-of-the-art electronics. Later that year, he built a version for Jackson Browne, who named the guitar "the Groove Master" in tribute to its unique sound and playability. Roger and his wife Laurel formed the Benedict Guitar Company and began marketing the Groove Master in limited custom editions. These guitars were shown at NAMM in 1993 and the company gained valuable national exposure. Roger died unexpectedly in 1994, and the operations were continued by fellow luthier Bill Hager. This instrument is from ‘93, in great shape, and is signed by Roger Benedict. Johnny Lang plays a Benedict, Stevie Ray Vaughan owned one too. How about you?

Excellent condition!
  • a few scuffs on the case
  • small ding on the upper bout near the neck joint
  • belt buckle rash on the back (indentations in the finish) - being black this would not photograph

This is prototype number 12. A hand-made prototype of a very unique instrument. Cobalt blue swamp ash top, transparent white finish on the reverse, compound-radius neck, and featuring the tremendously versatile Positive Tone System (PTS): featuring 20 classic, authentic humbucking and single coil tones at the flip of a switch. Pretty amazing. A guitar with it’s own style and many, many voices. It has a very minor nick on top of headstock; otherwise it's excellent

A very nice G&C hardshell case included.
