1993 Benedict
“Groove Master" with Hardshell Case On Consignment Sold! More Images: one two three four five six seven eight A rare bird and an awesome player! Roger Benedict began building guitars in Minneapolis, MN in the early eighties. In 1988, he designed and built an electric guitar (Strat style) that featured a semi-hollow spruce body and state-of-the-art electronics. Later that year, he built a version for Jackson Browne, who named the guitar "the Groove Master" in tribute to its unique sound and playability. Roger and his wife Laurel formed the Benedict Guitar Company and began marketing the Groove Master in limited custom editions. These guitars were shown at NAMM in 1993 and the company gained valuable national exposure. Roger died unexpectedly in 1994, and the operations were continued by fellow luthier Bill Hager. This instrument is from ‘93, in great shape, and is signed by Roger Benedict. Johnny Lang plays a Benedict, Stevie Ray Vaughan owned one too. How about you? Excellent condition!
